The central theme of the discussion revolved around the importance of art being accessible to different segments of society, alongside its impact on individuals. This inspiring event provided students with both theoretical insights and practical examples, allowing them to enhance their understanding and awareness.
The event was further enriched by the presence of Prof. Dr. Güzin Ilıcak, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, who contributed significantly to the discussions. During the session, Prof. Dr. Ilıcak shared evaluations of the "AI-Supported Audio-Described Poster Exhibition," a collaborative project. This exhibition showcases the intersection of technology and art, drawing attention to the concept of accessible art for visually impaired individuals. The innovative projects created by students at the crossroads of technology and art received high praise.
The accessibility of art is not merely an aesthetic value but also a societal necessity. Events like this serve the dual purpose of raising awareness among students and promoting the inclusive and transformative power of art. By incorporating important topics like awareness and accessibility into their projects, young design candidates contribute not only to their personal growth but also to building a more inclusive understanding of art that can touch all segments of society.
As the Faculty of Fine Arts at Istanbul Gelisim University, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nuri Sezer for organizing this impactful talk and to all the academics who contributed. We believe these steps toward creating a more inclusive world through art and design will continue to inspire future generations.
