A "Science in Plate Design" event was organized for department students with the organization of Lecturer Mehtap Çerkez, one of the faculty members of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department.
Gaziantep University Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department lecturer and Lecturer Ceyhun Uçuk was a guest of our university within the scope of Banquet Catering Services Management and Menu Planning course. The workshop, which was held as part of the in-class event, was held in the Gastronorm kitchen of Block B. In the last lesson of the term, Ceyhun Uçuk gave a presentation on Neurogastronomy to the students. After neurogastronomy, he shared his valuable information about plate design and the art of the plate with the students. After the presentation, he showed the art of plates in practice by touching on the points to be considered while designing plates with different recipes.
Ceyhun Uçuk shared design elements such as the use of color, texture, line, composition, point, tone while designing plates and how to apply them on the plate with students. He talked about principles such as contrast, unity and repetition in the plate presentation.

Lecturer Mehtap Çerkez presented a plaque to Lecturer Ceyhun Uçuk at the end of the workshop. The event ended after the group photo shoot.
