Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department held a comprehensive internship orientation on Thursday, April 10 at 14:00 in order to contribute to the professional development of students and to ensure that they start the internship process more consciously. Chair of Department Prof. Dr. Aslı Albayrak, Res. Asst. Emel Çirişoğlu and Res. Asst. Ayşe Seray Engin from the academic staff attended the orientation held in J Block 317 classroom. In addition to the academic staff, mainly third and fourth year students who will be doing their internships attended. Res. Asst. Emel Çirişoğlu made a presentation at the orientation. In her presentation, Çirişoğlu emphasized that the internship process is one of the most important opportunities for students to put their theoretical knowledge into practice.
As part of the orientation, students were given detailed information on internship application processes and procedures, rules to be considered before and during the application, official document tracking, mandatory documents, insurance procedures, and internship location selection. Detailed information was provided on how to fill out the necessary documents for the application, the dates they should arrange their internship days, and how to conduct this entire process. In addition to all the information she provided, Res. Asst. Emel Çirişoğlu also answered all the questions that students had previously wondered about filling out the internship notebook. She also focused on sample internship notebooks and how they should fill out their notebooks.
In addition, information was provided on how students who want to do an internship abroad can conduct the internship process. The conditions required for students who have completed their compulsory internship and want to do a voluntary internship were detailed.
In the Q&A session held at the end of the program, the questions that students were curious about were answered. The Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department plans to continue its orientations to support vocational training processes in the next internship period.
