 What Did GastroArt Club Do This Period?


Istanbul Gelisim University, (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department GastroArt Club students worked actively this term and carried out various and entertaining activities.

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Fine Arts Faculty (FAF) Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department GastroArt Club worked actively this term with the contributions of students and lecturers. Various activities were organized for students to develop themselves in the sector and have fun. They organized many activities such as attending various theoretical and practical workshops organized by different institutions about different culinary cultures, going to technical trips for on-site learning, participating in fair trips attended by the leaders of the sector, interviews with famous chefs, local taste tours. Some of the activities carried out by the club are as follows.


Turkish Cuisine Open Fire Cooking Event
 
In addition, the “Turkish Cuisine Open Fire Cooking Event”, jointly organized by all Gastronomy and Culinary Arts departments and the Cookery program, was held on Wednesday, May 25. Thanks to this technical activity, students learned by seeing various cooking methods and an environment was provided where they could socialize.
 
Food Photography Training
 
The Photography and Video Club, which is one of the clubs of our university, and the GastroArt Club jointly organized a "Food Photography Training" event. With this event, it was aimed to give an education to students on food photography, which is an area of ​​interest in the gastronomy sector, in order to provide them with information and gain experience.

Gastrovision I
 
The 'Gastrovision I' event, where gastronomy-themed films were watched, was organized by creating the cinema environment that all youth longed for during the pandemic period.
 
Gastronomy Tours
 
Apart from all these, 'Gastrotours' organized by the club students themselves were also held. With these tours, students had a pleasant time visiting historical places as well as local tastes of Istanbul.
Apart from these activities, a joint social aid project was carried out with the Entrepreneur Athletes Club within the scope of the social assistance project, and refreshments were provided for disabled citizens.
