 Tastes of Turkish Cuisine and Inter-Department Meeting Event


Students of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, School of Applied Sciences Gastronomy (Turkish-English), Istanbul Gelisim Vocational School Culinary came together at Beylikdüzü Gürpınar coast for the 'Turkish Cuisine Practices' event.


Students of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, School of Applied Sciences Gastronomy (Turkish-English), Istanbul Gelisim Vocational School Culinary came together at Beylikdüzü Gürpınar coast for the 'Turkish Cuisine Practices' event.

Students from IGU learned the subject Kebabs by practicing outdoors within the scope of the Turkish Cuisine course in the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts. Students from the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary at our University had the opportunity to meet each other and had fun with music.

In the event organized by Lect. İbrahim Levent DEMİRÇAKMAK and GastroArt Club, students cooked some Turkish Cuisine tastes such as Urfa kebab, spit roasted lamb, and Kokoreç, and had fun with music by DJ and hand drum in the Gürpınar coast.
 
Head of the IGU Gastronomy Department (English program) Asst. Prof. Dr. Serdar Çöp stating that they would like to integrate the students and facilitate their adaptation to the university with the participation of students from all classes of Gastronomy Departments and Cookery Program, added: “We enabled them to have a pleasant time by making outdoor kitchen applications. We would like to thank everyone who supported the event with the participation of our faculty members.”

IGU Secretary General and Head of the Department of Gastronomy (English) Asst. Prof. Dr. Serdar ÇÖP, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts Asst. Prof. Dr. Murat DOĞAN, Head of the Department of Gastronomy (Turkish) Asst. Prof. Dr. Özgür KIZILDEMİR, Head of the Department of Culinary Lect. Hakan GÖRÜR, Lect. İ. Levent DEMİRÇAKMAK, Lect. Elif Z. ÖZER, Lect. Murat Mutlu TOKAY, Res. Asst. Emel ÇİRİŞOĞLU, Res. Asst. Gizem HÜLAĞA, Res. Asst. Oğuzhan KÖKLÜ and the Head of GastroArt Club Hakkı GÖK and Vice Head of the Club Kerem ŞAHİN had a souvenir photo taken at the end of the event.
