Our student achieved significant success at the International Gaziantep Gastronomy Festival!

Istanbul Gelişim University (İGÜ), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department student Berkay Gülşen, together with our university students Kerem Günay and Şüheda Şentürk, achieved significant success at the International Gaziantep Gastronomy Festival.

Istanbul Gelişim University (İGÜ) achieved significant success at the “International Gaziantep Gastronomy Festival” held within the scope of the “GastroAntep Culture Road Festival” organized in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality. The festival brought together important names in the sector on September 15, 2024, bringing them together in gastronomy, culture and art events.

Our university students, who participated in the University Competition, which has an important place in the field of gastronomy, competed with great dedication and discipline and won the second place award. Prepared for the festival by Lecturer İbrahim Levent Demirçakmak, İGU Faculty of Fine Arts Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department student Berkay Gülşen, İGU Faculty of Applied Sciences Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department student Kerem Günay and İGU Vocational School Pastry and Bakery Department student Şüheda Şentürk received great appreciation from the jury members. Istanbul Gelişim University once again demonstrated the quality of gastronomy education and the talents of its students.

Our student Berkay Gülşen said,

“First of all, I would like to thank our university and especially my esteemed Lecturer İbrahim Levent Demirçakmak for allowing me to have this experience. It was a great experience for me to continue the education I have been receiving in the field of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts with such an experience for 3 years. It was a great event to test myself and see my shortcomings. As a result of this competition, I saw the quality of the education I received and saw that I needed to continue my studies even further. The reason for this great result we got was not only our determination and hard work, but also the quality of the practical and theoretical courses we have taken so far. As I have done so far, I will continue to work every day and try to do better if such an opportunity comes my way again. I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to everyone who has caused the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department in our university to develop this much, especially Lecturer İbrahim Levent Demirçakmak.”

We congratulate our students and wish them continued success.
