Ayşe Seray Çetin attended the 26th Eastern Mediterranean International Tourism and Travel Fair EMITT 2023, one of the five largest tourism fairs in the world, as visitor. It is known that EMITT Fair is in the position of a tourism summit as it offers new business and cooperation opportunities to the sector. Thanks to this, the number of exhibitors and visitors in the region increases every year and this year, which contributes to the growth of the sector; country pavilions, holiday destinations, summer and winter tourism and outdoor tourism destinations, health tourism, gastronomy tourism, hotels and tourist centers, tour operators and agencies participated.
Çirişoğlu and Çetin, who visited the stands where the culture and tourism directorates and municipalities of the provinces participating in the fair from Turkey, got information about the local cuisines of the provinces, also had the opportunity to examine how much local cuisine culture is given in tourism promotions. In this context; The stands of cities such as Istanbul, Çanakkale, Trabzon, Giresun, Çorum, Balıkesir, Mersin, Nevşehir, Şanlıurfa, Edirne, Isparta and Antalya were visited. In addition, the stands of countries such as Korea, Serbia, Bulgaria, Nepal, and Macedonia were visited and information about gastronomic culture was obtained. At the fair, where local product presentations were included in many stands, it was noted that the product variety was quite high.
In addition to promotions and collaborations, conferences were also held with the participation of the leading names in the industry.
