The GASTROART Student Club, operating under the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), has elected its new management team ahead of the 2025–2026 academic year. With its renewed leadership, the club has embarked on a dynamic and innovative term focused on productivity and collaboration in the field of gastronomy.
The new management team plans to organize a range of activities that will help students translate their academic knowledge into practical experience. These include hands-on culinary workshops, local flavor promotions, seminars, competitions, and social responsibility projects. In addition, the club aims to raise social awareness through events centered on sustainable gastronomy and cultural heritage. Club advisor Asst. Prof. Emel Çirişoğlu stated that the management renewal has brought fresh energy to the club, adding: “With the new team, GASTROART will carry out many projects that will contribute to our students’ professional and personal development. Our club will operate with a spirit of sharing, creativity, and collaboration at its core.
The new club president, second-year student Rana Çetinkaya, also shared her vision: “As GASTROART, we approach gastronomy as a form of art. Throughout this term, we aim to explore diverse culinary cultures, increase student engagement, and contribute to our university’s broader gastronomy vision.”
With its renewed management, GASTROART Club will continue to guide the professional development of students in the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Istanbul Gelisim University, foster creativity in gastronomy, and contribute to the university’s vibrant cultural life.
