 Final Exams Begin!

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) 2023-2024 Fall semester final exams start on January 9. The two-week final exams will end on January 20.

After the end of the 2023-2024 Fall semester, an intense two-week (January 9-20) exam program awaits our students.

What Should Our Students Pay Attention to During the Exam Period?

As the 2023-2024 Fall Semester ends, the final exams, which are held to determine the end-of-semester performances of students, start on January 9. There are some situations that students need to know and some rules they must follow during Finals Week. These rules are as follows:

• Exam locations are announced 15 minutes before the exams and can be viewed via OBİS (Student Information System).
• You must sit in the exams according to the exam order created by the observer.
• Each student must check the exam schedule from his/her own OBIS.
• Student ID cards must be placed on the tables before the exam. Students whose student ID card is lost must obtain a student certificate before the exam and the student certificate must be on the table during the exam.
• Mobile phones must be turned off during the exam.
• To easily reach the classrooms during the exam week, you should go to the exam halls after the exam venues are announced.
• Problems encountered before the exam must be reported to the faculty secretariat for resolution.
• Since students whose names are not on the exam list should not take the exam, their names should be checked on the signature list before starting the exam.
• For exams divided into two or three classes, classes should be attended according to the student lists shared by the department professors.
• In case of attempted cheating, penal procedures are applied in line with the relevant regulations.
• Students who do not attend at least 70% of the theoretical courses and at least 80% of the practical and laboratories and whose absence is announced are not taken to the midterm, excuse exam, final, and make-up exams of that course and cannot benefit from additional exam rights.
• Students who took the final exam and received FF-DD-DC grades, as well as students who had the right to take the final exam but did not take the final exam, have the right to take the make-up exam.
The note equivalents of these letters are as follows:

  • FF 0.00/00-39, DD 1.50/40-44, DC 1.80/45-54

• Final exam results will be announced to students via OBIS by January 27.

• Grades that are not included in the average are:

- G (Pass) grade; It is given to students who are successful in non-credit courses in their curricula.
- K (Fail) grade; It is given to students who fail non-credit courses in their curriculum.
- Grade D (Absentee); It is given to students who fail because they cannot fulfill their obligations regarding course attendance or course practices. D grade is treated as an FF grade in GPA calculation.

For detailed information, all our students can take a look at the IGU Examination Regulations.

We wish success to all our students in the 2023-2024 Fall semester final exams.
