At Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), we hosted an event called "Those Who Say "Development" in Design: Career Experiences of IGU FFA Graduates", where we hosted graduate students from four departments in total. The event was held on Wednesday, December 6, at Auditorium No. 347, Block J. The event was moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Aslı Kasar, Head of the Department of Communication and Design.
After Asst. Prof. Dr. Aslı Kasar introduced the guests, our graduates took turns sharing their industry experiences. First, the event started with a presentation prepared by Simay Yılmaz, a graduate of the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts and a Food Stylist. In addition to his presentation of his work, Simay also talked about his Erasmus experiences. Then, Hande Pala, our graduate of the Department of Communication and Design, talked about how she rose to the top in her job, which she started as an intern, and the difficulties she experienced. Then the floor came to Ali Ceylan, our graduate of the Department of Graphic Design. Stating that they do similar jobs, Ali Ceylan talked about the process of finding a job, his business life, and the difficulties of his job. Finally, our Radio, Television, and Cinema Department Graduate Kayra Öcal had a say. Our graduate, who works as a freelancer, talked about the difficulties of this way of working, as well as the work he did and the various awards he received.
During the event, our graduates asked questions to each other in an interactive manner, as they work in similar sectors. In addition, our students who came to listen to the event were interested in the subject and asked various questions to our graduates, even if they studied in other departments. In this respect, it can be said that the activity is extremely beneficial for our students. After the question and answer session, Asst. Prof. Dr. Aslı Kasar presented plaques to our graduates one by one. The event ended after the photo shoot.
We would like to thank all our graduate students who participated in our event and wish them success in their working lives!
