Purpose of Contest: Each city is an important point on the world with their historical, natural and cultural riches. Our city has many historical, archaeological, mythological riches from the past to the present day; and it is also equipped with the mission of tolerance and sharing which is possessed by all the citizens. Our city, which is known as the “City of Peace” in the national and international arena, handles “Peace” as a living culture. 2018, in which the 55th International Troia Festival will be held, was announced as “YEAR OF TROIA”. One of the most famous ancient cities in the world, Troia was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1998. This List contains cities which are accepted as the common heritage of all mankind, which have cultural and natural assets and universal values and which are worthy of interest and protection. Troia City, which has witnessed thousands of years of and has been home to various civilizations, is one of the most important values of the history of humanity and world culture. The contestants are expected to interpret “TROIA” and “PEACE” in their design, by taking into account the elements of the city and the above mentioned values within the scope of life process of city and inhabitants of the city.
The poster will be selected in order to announce the 55th “International Troia Festival” which is held in Canakkale every year and the posters selected for exhibition will be exhibited within the scope of festival.

Exhibition: It will be held between August 9-13, 2018 within the “55th International Troia Festival” event program.
Terms of Participation:
The competition is open to all designers from Turkey and International level who are 18 and over.
The competition is open for individual and team level participation. A contestant/ team may participate with a maximum of three posters with different nicknames. In cases where the poster sent as a team receives a prize, the amount will be deposited in the representative account, which is determined by all the participants and signed duly. The amount of the prize will not change for a group. The amount specified in article 6 shall be paid to the name of the group representative and not to each member of the group.
Participants of the competition are obliged to submit to the Municipality of Çanakkale their signed participation form and a declaration stating that their posters are original and their own, that they have not participated to any other competitions with the same work(s) and that they agree to the terms of this specification. Posters with no participation form will not be evaluated. (Posters that do not meet these requirements will be excluded from the competition even if they have been deemed worthy of the award or the exhibit.)
All the posters participating in the competition and deemed to be worthy for the prize and exhibition will become the property of Çanakkale Municipality indefinitely and shall not be returned. Çanakkale Municipality has the right to publish these posters on television, Internet, social media and all other digital media; issue and distribute in catalogs, brochures, banners, books, CDs, videos and other media, send to domestic and international education and cultural institutions and to use in national and international news.
The selection committee may require the poster owner to make changes to the poster and to work on the design of the festival program when it deems necessary. No further payments will be made by Çanakkale Municipality other than the prize amount.
A contestant may participate in the competition with a maximum of three posters and may be deemed worthy of multiple awards.
Contestants will be deemed to have accepted the terms of the competition and the decisions of the Jury.
There is no limitation regarding the use color and technique in poster works. However, colors that are available with four-color (CMYK) offset printing technology should be used. The works will be in 300 dpi resolution.
Posters should have dimensions of 50x70 cm. vertical. Posters should contain “55th International Troia Festival” as a written message, supporting the visual design. Posters without that phrase will not be taken into consideration.
The digital original of the posters should be prepared with Adobe Illustrator (.ai) or Photoshop (.eps) or Photoshop (.psd) or Photoshop (.tiff) versions with a clear extension of the program. Works will be printed and sent as 50 × 70 vertical and as minimum of 3 mm photoblock print. (Net print area for a poster with 50x70 cm dimensions should be 48x68 cm.) Only the posters as photoblock print will be evaluated. Posters sent as or delivered roll, A3-A4 print will not be received by hand and via cargo mail. Originals should be in CMYK mode and with minimum 300 dpi resolution.
The digital original of the awarded posters will be requested by the Jury after the competition results are announced. Original work should be delivered without any compression and with the properties stated in paragraph j of Article 4, fonts should be converted and saved in CD or DVD.
The logos/emblems of Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Çanakkale Municipality, Çanakkale-Tübingen Troia Foundation should be located at a suitable location on the poster. Related logos\emblems can be obtained from www.canakkale.bel.tr
