At the Preference and Introduction area located on the 17th floor of K Block at Istanbul Gelişim University, faculty members of the Visual Communication Design Department, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sezgin Savaş and Asst. Prof. Dr. Büşra Kılıç, are meeting one-on-one with prospective students to introduce the department’s opportunities, explain course content, and answer student questions.
Hands-On Learning Spaces Introduced On-Site
Research Assistant Dr. Ayten Bengisu Cansever Bayhan is welcoming prospective students at the Visual Communication Design Laboratory located on the 2nd floor of J Block. Here, she introduces the department’s technical infrastructure, digital production tools, and studio facilities through hands-on demonstrations. Students have the opportunity to directly experience the department’s atmosphere and observe its creative production environment.
Creative Curriculum and Future-Oriented Vision
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sezgin Savaş emphasized that the Visual Communication Design Department operates with a contemporary vision encompassing graphic design, digital media, AI-assisted design, animation, and user experience.
“Our department offers an innovative structure where students gain both artistic and technological skills, preparing them as industry-ready individuals,” he stated.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Büşra Kılıç highlighted the enthusiasm of prospective students, noting:
“We’re thrilled to see that incoming students are eager to create and are highly engaged with technology. AI-powered design processes are at the heart of our curriculum,” she said.
One-on-One Guidance with the Preference Robot on the 4th Floor
During the introduction days, prospective students can create their preference lists with expert guidance through the Preference Robot located at the Winter Garden area on the 4th floor of K Block. Faculty members and the counseling team provide personalized support to guide students based on their interests and aspirations.
