Message of the Head of Deparment

Dear Students and Prospective Applicants,

In an era where visual culture and the digital world shape our everyday lives, it is no longer enough to simply design—we must also communicate, influence, and transform. At Istanbul Gelişim University’s Department of Visual Communication Design, we nurture creative minds that will stand at the very heart of this transformation.

For us, design is not merely an aesthetic form; it is a language, a way of thinking, and a powerful tool for action. The ability to bring a visual idea to life and evoke an emotional or intellectual response in the viewer is one of the most valuable skills of our time. In our program, we combine this skill with technology, strategy, art, and communication—preparing you not only for today but for the creative challenges of the future.

Education in Visual Communication Design here is more than a studio experience. You will create projects, receive critique, rebuild, and ultimately develop your own visual signature. With our hands-on learning approach, we help shape each student’s portfolio, equipping you with the skills and vision demanded by the digital world.
