The 2026–2027 Preference and Promotion Days at Istanbul Gelisim University were completed
The Preference and Promotion Days held at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) for the 2026–2027 academic year have been completed. Prospective students and their families, who had the opportunity to learn more about the university’s faculties and departments, met with academic staff and sought answers to their questions about educational processes, departmental opportunities, and university life.

As part of the promotion days, the Department of Visual Communication Design (VCD) of the Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) at Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) also met with prospective students. Faculty member Research Assistant Dr. Ayten Bengisu Cansever Bayhan met with students and their families throughout the event and provided information about the Department of Visual Communication Design. Questions from prospective students regarding the department’s educational structure, course content, areas of practice, and career opportunities after graduation were answered.
Information about the field of Visual Communication Design was shared
The Department of Visual Communication Design was introduced to prospective students with its interdisciplinary structure bringing together different fields such as graphic design, digital media, brand communication, and user experience (UX). Information was provided about the department’s educational approach, which supports students in becoming designers who can evaluate aesthetics and functionality together and who possess creative and analytical thinking skills.
During the promotion process, the aim was not only to provide prospective students with information about the department but also to enable them to evaluate the professional counterparts of the fields they are interested in. Students interested in Visual Communication Design had the opportunity to learn about different areas of production such as typography, graphic design, illustration, photography, video, animation, and interactive media.

Throughout the promotion days, students and their families had the opportunity to discuss their questions about the university preference process directly with academic staff. During the informational sessions conducted by Research Assistant Dr. Ayten Bengisu Cansever Bayhan, evaluations were made regarding the educational opportunities offered by the department and areas of employment in creative industries in line with the interests of prospective students.
The Preference and Promotion Days held within the Faculty of Fine Arts at Istanbul Gelisim University contributed to prospective university students making informed choices while also providing an opportunity for direct communication between academic staff and prospective students. With the completion of the promotion process, prospective students had the opportunity to obtain direct information from academic staff about the departments they could consider during the preference period.
