IGU FFA Visual Communication Design Department Held Its Orientation!

The meeting was attended by Asst. Prof Aslı Kasar (Chair of Department), Asst. Prof. Çağdaş Topçu, and Research Assistant Dr. Ayten Bengisu Cansever Bayhan. In the opening, Dr. Kasar outlined the department’s academic structure and vision, emphasizing the significance of Visual Communication Design in today’s world. Faculty members then provided comprehensive information on the university’s opportunities, including Erasmus+ exchange programs, double major and minor options, advising and office hours, faculty events, student clubs, social responsibility initiatives, and scientific research projects. They also shared guidance on career pathways after graduation in both industry and academia.

A segment of the program was dedicated to student introductions. New students took the floor one by one to share their interests, past experiences, and expectations from the department—helping to establish the class’s first social bonds. As part of the orientation, the department representative to serve throughout the semester was also elected. The session concluded with a Q&A, during which faculty addressed students’ questions. Participants left with a broad understanding of their department—academically and socially—and a strong motivation for the new term.
