“Bibliometric Mapping Analysis” Training Held at IGU Faculty of Fine Arts

The training was held on March 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM, with Res. Asst. Ayşegül Engin Vardar from Gebze Technical University as the guest speaker. Titled “Bibliometric Mapping Analysis and the Use of the Bibliometrix Interface,” the event focused on data-driven methods for analyzing scientific publications.

During the training, participants were introduced to the fundamental principles of bibliometric analysis, the examination of academic literature through network structures, and the visualization of scientific datasets using the Bibliometrix interface. Bibliometric mapping techniques—allowing researchers to analyze scientific production trends, thematic clusters, and collaboration networks—were demonstrated through practical examples.

The session also addressed how Bibliometrix software can be used in academic research, including the preparation of datasets and the interpretation of bibliometric network visualizations. Participants gained comprehensive insights into how bibliometric mapping methods can support literature reviews, the monitoring of research field developments, and the analysis of scientific collaborations.

The Faculty of Fine Arts at Istanbul Gelisim University plans to continue organizing training sessions, seminars, and workshops aimed at strengthening academic research capacity in the coming period.
