'Short and Cheap' director/sculptor Uğur Savaş and director Doğuş Algün are the third of the 'Short and Cheap' event organized by Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF) and held every Tuesday throughout December. Under the moderation of Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan, it was held on Tuesday, December 21 at the Faculty of Fine Arts (E Blok) TUSI Conference Hall.
The event started with the screening of director Doğuş Algün's movie 'Evening Dresses', then the movie 'Dream and Feel' by director/sculptor Uğur Savaş was screened. After the screening of the movie, the interview part started. In the talk, issues such as the budget problem in making short films, the possible content and stylistic preferences of low-budget films, and preliminary preparation in cinema were discussed.
In the following parts of the conversation, director Doğuş Algün and director/sculptor Uğur Savaş gave information about the cinema industry and offered some tips. Particularly, the students of Radio, Television and Cinema department and Communication and Design students showed great interest in the event and ended with a question-answer session.
At the end of the event, Uğur Savaş and Doğuş Algün were presented with plaques by Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Kemal Çipe.
At the end of the event, director Uğur Savaş and director Doğuş Algün met and chatted with the students in the faculty garden.
