 The Second of the Stars in the Vision Interview Series was Held with the Title of Project Development, Ministry Applications, Pitching


The second of the Stars in Vision interview series organized by Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF) Radio, Television and Cinema department was held with the participation of producer, director, screenwriter Ahmet Küçükkayalı under the title Project Development, Ministry Applications, Pitching.


In the interview moderated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kemal Çipe, producer, director and screenwriter Ahmet Küçükkayalı shared his knowledge and experience.
 
Ahmet Küçükkayalı, who had the opportunity to work with important directors such as Yavuz Özkan, Tunç Başaran, Ali Özgentürk, Semih Kaplanoğlu, in addition to his short and feature-length projects, started his speech by saying that he entered the sector without a cinema education, but he thought it was a must to get a cinema education. Küçükkayalı, who received support from the Ministry of Culture and various forums with his many projects, gave advice to students based on his successful progress and experience in this field. Wings of the Night (2009), his first project with the support of the Ministry of Culture and directed by Serdar Akar, with his scenario telling the last four days of a suicide bomber, and his project The Atlas of Lost Souls (2010), which was entitled to receive script development support the following year, and his first directorial project. His project, Without Me (2012), was discussed. Talking about the TRT Award he received at the Antalya Film Forum in 2018 and the production support he received from the Ministry of Culture in 2019, Küçükkayalı also talked about how he realized his projects and the preparation processes.
 
Küçükkayalı mentioned that he wrote his projects in such a short time as seven or ten days, and pointed out that this situation can be realized as a result of accumulation. He stated that he had to read a lot, research a lot, watch a lot, and stated that he went into seclusion to realize his latest project and went to Montenegro, especially in order to isolate himself, and went to Montenegro, where he prepared for his project.
 
Continuing by adding that he thinks art is for society, Küçükkayalı added that he is working on a project with the theme of migration and mining. By pointing out the information pollution in the books and internet resources in the field of scenario, what the scenario means for Ahmet Küçükkayalı, how the script writing process should proceed, what the issues to be considered while preparing for the support applications of the Ministry of Culture, what kind of preparation phase should be passed in the pitching processes. Information was shared with students and other participants on many subjects.
 
The interview ended after the question-answer session with the participants.
