 Students of Radio, Television and Cinema Department Receive Student Achievement Award at the 9th Media Awards!


Students of Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), the Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), and the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department were deemed worthy of the Student Achievement Award at the ninth Media Awards held at Istanbul Gelişim University for their successful projects during the term.


The second-year students of the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema were rewarded by the university after their success with the first prize in the Short Horror Film Competition organized by the Turkish American Association (TAA) with their one-minute short horror film "The Door" directed by Mustafa Çağatay Türkmen. Hamide Yüksel and Anıl Yüksel starred in the movie Dış Kapı, written by Mustafa Çağatay Türkmen, whose script was also directed by the movie. The cinematography and editing were undertaken by Muhammet Emir Akarslan and Onur Karakuş, the art direction was undertaken by Beyzanur Yüksel. Mert Hakan was the light supervisor, Şevval Çelen was the make-up artist, and Ahmet Serkan Aldüz was the set supervisor.
 
Another project that received an award at the award ceremony belonged to the students of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema Melek Çetinkaya, Tuğçe Çeşmeci, and Sema Arslan. In the TRT Future Communicators Competition, the students who won the first prize in the Podcast category with their podcast program "Portrait of a Woman" were also awarded by the university.
 
Melek Çetinkaya, Tuğçe Çeşmeci, and Sema Arslan, who produced projects in the field of Podcast Broadcasting in the Digital Broadcasting category, center a pioneering woman in each episode in their publications called “Woman's Portrait”. They aimed to reproduce and make visible the inspiring stories by aiming to tell the struggles of strong and successful women who have left their mark on the world.
 
All of our students in the film team, who were selected from among many films and won first place with their story in a short time like one minute, and our students who won first place in the Digital Broadcasting – Podcast category among 121 universities and 1360 participants, for the Student Achievement Award they received within the scope of the 9th Media Awards.
