Set Preparations for Graduation Projects Have Started!

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), Radio, Television and Cinema Department final year students started preparations for the short films they will shoot as part of the Graduation Project course.

Students of the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema are entitled to graduate by submitting the short film projects that they have learned in both theoretical and practical courses during their four-year education period. The final-year students, who took the Graduation Project course in the spring semester of the 2022-2023 academic year, started the set preparations for the projects they started to work on as of the fall semester.

General Evaluation Meeting Held

In the Graduation Project course, which has a separate in-class calendar and meeting order, students have started working on their projects since the fall semester. First of all, the students, who chose the project advisors among the faculty members of the department, reported their demands to produce projects as a group or individually. The students, who were obliged to attend all the meetings in the calendar prepared for the Graduation Project course covering the fall and spring semesters, participated in the meetings organized under the titles such as the idea meeting, synopsis meeting, scenario meeting, and defended their projects in front of all the faculty members of the department. The final year students of the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department, who developed their projects in line with the suggestions and criticisms received, defended their scenarios for the last time before going on the set at the general evaluation meeting held on 03.04.2023. In the meeting, where scenarios ready to go on set and shooting were evaluated and warnings were made for scenarios that were not fully ready yet, important reminders were given to the students about the issues to be considered while handing over their projects.
It was emphasized that the students of the Radio, Television, and Cinema Department, who made the name of our university known on many important platforms with the important festivals they participated in with the short film projects they produced, would be supported in their festival journeys if their projects were successful.

The meeting, where the students shared their set preparations one by one, ended after the questions of the faculty members about the projects and the student's curiosity about the process were answered.
