Res. Asst. Eda Türkay Left the 24th Izmir International Short Film Festival With The First Prize!
The short film "Kusur", produced by Res. Asst. Eda Türkay from Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Radio, Television and Cinema Department, was selected as the best project in the Film LAB section of the 24th Izmir International Short Film Festival.
The twenty-fourth International Izmir Short Film Festival, one of the most important short film festivals of Turkey, which was first held in 2000, took place between 14-19 November this year. With the Film LAB program organized for the third time this year, the festival brought together important names of the cinema industry and movie lovers with workshops and interviews. An award-winning project competition was also organized within the scope of Film LAB, supported by the Ministry of Culture, General Directorate of Cinema, and Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.
First Among Thirteen Projects!
The process of seeking pre-production support has begun for the short film "Kusur", produced by Res. Asst. Eda Türkay from the Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema, for whom she also contributed to the script, and directed by Pelin Büyüktaş. Eda Türkay, who continues to apply to support platforms, stated that they received the first good news of the project from Izmir. The festival journey of "Kusur", which was selected as the best project among thirteen projects in the production support competition held in the Film LAB section of the 24th Izmir International Short Film Festival, has begun.
Explaining her projects in front of the jury consisting of experienced names such as Zeynep Koray, Said Aksoy, and Zeynep Santıroğlu Sutherland, Res. Asst. Eda Türkay stated that the festival was very exciting. She added that it is very valuable to take part in the Izmir Short Film Festival and that the Film LAB program and the festival offer a very productive platform for both cinema followers and project producers. Türkay stated that the fact that the project was understood and appreciated after the five-minute presentation in front of the jury motivated them greatly for the next journey of the project.
