Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF) Radio, Television and Cinema students reached the finals in the Future Communicators competition organized by TRT with their original projects.

The advisors developed by the students in different categories were provided by the academicians of the department, Lecturer Kerem Yükseloğlu and Res. Asst. Eda Çekemci have emerged as a result of a painstaking work process. After the application, two projects from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema were eligible to compete in the final stage:

Melek Çetinkaya, Tuğçe Çeşmeci and Sema Arslan, second year students of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, reached the finals with their project titled “Portrait of a Woman”, which they developed as a podcast broadcast.

Cem Berkan Karadede and Beyzanur Özer, third year students of the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, developed the digital video content format "Do I Owe You Lie?" They passed the pre-selection with their project, entitled to compete in the final stage.

“Portrait of a Woman” project coordinators Melek Çetinkaya, Tuğçe Çeşmeci and Sema Arslan shared their thoughts on the project development, production and competition process:

"When we learned about such a project as a team, the first thing we thought was that we wanted to do a project about women or animal rights. In this project, we aimed to tell the struggles of strong and successful women who have left their mark on the world, and to introduce them to the audience. We also wanted them to be an inspiration to others with their lives as well as us. We would like to thank our first listeners, Lecturer Kerem Yükseloğlu and Research Assistant Eda Çekemci, who were with us at every stage of our project and supported us."

“Do I owe you a lie?” project coordinators Cem Berkan Karadede and Beyzanur Özer shared their thoughts on the project development, production and competition process:

"After we decided to participate in the competition, we focused on various concepts and finally decided on the project "Do I owe you a lie?" and started working. The project is for those who follow the truth of the events that are the subject of urban legends or that have various versions while being translated from language to language, and for these reasons, most of the people know wrong. "After our application, while we were waiting for the results, we received the news that we passed the pre-selection and we are very happy. It has been an exciting and beautiful process for us. After that, we want to return to our school with an award."

We congratulate the success of our students as a result of their hard work and wish them continued success.
