Nusaybin Film Workshop, organized by Istanbul Gelişim University Fine Arts Faculty in cooperation with Nusaybin Municipality and Nusaybin District Governorship, was held in Nusaybin on 12-13-14 November.

The students who participated in the workshop, which lasted for three days, first received theoretical training and then shot a documentary film of Nisibis Academy, which is the oldest university in the history of civilization. 25 high school students selected with voluntary participation attended the workshop established at the Nisibis Academy Mor Yakup Church and first received theoretical training. Equipment such as cameras, cameras, microphones, and audio devices was introduced by our expert instructors in this workshop, where the intricacies of documentary filming were explained. Scenario, editing, and lighting training were given. Afterward, the students were divided into various branches such as cameraman, director, assistant director, and actor, according to their abilities and interests.

The screenings of the prepared documentary films will take place at the gala in Nusaybin on December 18, 2021, and certificates will be given to the participants.

The main purpose of the workshop is to open a new horizon for students who have not been in contact with the university in their families and close circles and to enable them to discover their areas of interest. In addition, for this purpose, it is aimed to introduce the world's first university "Nisibis Academy" and "Mor Yakup Church" in Nusaybin to the whole world. Another feature of the location chosen in the workshop is that Mor Yakup Church and Zeynelabidin Mosque are located side by side in tolerance. This situation can be shown as a symbol of peace that can set an example for the whole world.

Finally, it should be noted that Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Fine Arts will continue its film workshop activities in different cities, where the first leg of the Faculty of Fine Arts was held in Nusaybin and where it tries to open a new horizon for students who have never been in contact with the university, to make them realize their talents.
