Antalya Film Festival, which hosts the Golden Orange Cinema School for the third time this year, provides students studying in the fields of cinema, television, communication and media from universities in Turkey to receive training from experts for a week. Important names from professions such as scenario consultant, academician, director, film writer and producer take part in the trainings conducted online due to the pandemic conditions. Melek Çetinkaya, a third-year student from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, who participated in the trainings at the festival, where many interviews were held in addition to the trainings, gave her views on the application process and trainings:
“When I first learned about Altın Portakal film school from my teacher, I was very excited and wanted to apply immediately. Afterwards, I thought that I might not have a chance among dozens of people, but I completed my application by explaining my dreams and what the school could contribute to me and my school. At the end of an exciting wait, I learned that I was accepted to the school among dozens of people. The classes, which were online due to the pandemic, took a total of six days. It was a great advantage for me to take lessons from important names such as Reha Erdem, Gülengül Altıntaş and Aslı Özgen. They shared their experiences with us and answered our questions at the end of the lesson. I am very grateful for enabling me to see different aspects of cinema and also to look at it from a different perspective. The lessons lasted only six days, but the knowledge and experience I gained will guide me for many years.”
We congratulate our student Melek Çetinkaya, who recently won the first prize in the Podcast category of the TRT Future Communicators Competition with the podcast broadcast "Woman's Portrait", which she created and presented together with Tuğçe Çeşmeci and Sema Arslan, for her achievements that brought continuity in her education life.
