Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF) Radio, Television and Cinema Department Head of Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Önder Paker starred in a commercial for "Teachers' Day" in recent months. Following this success of Mr. Önder Paker, another success news came from a student who graduated from them. Hakan Koyuncu, who successfully graduated from IGU Fine Arts Faculty Radio, Television and Cinema Department in 2019, took a role in a commercial.
“THE DEPARTMENT PROVIDED ME MANY ADVANTAGES TO KNOW THE SECTOR”
Koyuncu, who took part in the commercial of the Paribu brand, stated the following about how his dream of acting coincides with the educational culture ideal of the IGU GSF Radio, Television and Cinema department, the effect of the education he received on his career and the process of taking a role in the commercial film:
“I have been interested in acting for about 4 years. I have acted in many commercials and TV series. Acting was my dream. I came to Istanbul Gelişim University, taking my dream with me. My department has provided me with many advantages in terms of getting to know the sector. He showed me very well what a director and screenwriter can expect from an actor. I gained experience in important subjects such as actor management, set etiquette, professional work discipline in the short films made for us by our teachers, especially Ali Kemal Çipe. The award nights, where our professors invited me, allowed me to communicate closely with the industry.
I can say that the fact that my graduation period coincided with the pandemic worked for me. As everyone pulls and sends commercials/TV series games from their homes, the information that my department has given me has allowed me to stay a few steps ahead. Again, I would like to thank all my professors who contributed to my university education. I hope everyone takes firm steps towards their dreams and their luck is on their side.”

Asst. Prof. Dr. Ali Kemal Çipe, one of the academicians of the Department of Radio, Cinema and Television, who convinced many other students that the ideals they aimed in media life could be realized, and who prepared the students for post-graduate life with self-confidence, stated that he was happy and proud of the success of all students and made the following statements about the relationship between his acting career and the Radio Television Cinema department:
