One of the academicians of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), Radio, Television and Cinema Department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Radife Akyıldız Ongar met with the students as part of the High School Winter Academy organized by the university for high school students. This year, nearly 1000 students from 27 countries attended the High School Winter Academy, which was held online due to the pandemic.
Giving education at the High School Winter Academy with the title of "Creative Activity in Cinema and Television" by Asst. Prof. Dr. Radife Akyıldız Ongar. The lesson started with a short video.
In the video, Asst. Prof. Dr. Radife Akyıldız Ongar who entered the studio to start the lesson with high school students, there is a mise en scene where she meets Asst. Prof. Dr. Önder Paker. He read "I'm Listening to Istanbul with My Eyes Closed" in the studio at that time. Asst. Prof. Dr. Radife Akyıldız Ongar aimed to point out the content of the Come and See Istanbul project, which she coordinates and continues to work actively, and to introduce the studio facilities of the university.
After the introductory video, the video work of Berkay Güler, a 4th grade student at the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, who realized the first of the video works of the Come and See İstanbul project, was watched. A short conversation was held on the content of the video work and the production process.
Sharing the knowledge that cinema is a creative activity, a means of expression, a language, and an educational tool, through his presentations on the Art of Cinema and Visual Thinking, Asst. Prof. Dr. Radife Akyıldız Ongar, also shared important information for those who want to be a screenwriter.
Answering students' questions, Asst. Prof. Dr. Radife Akyıldız Ongar, after talking about the possibilities and curriculum of the department, gave information about Come and See Istanbul, a social responsibility project. He stated that students who want to participate in the project can apply with their Istanbul-themed photographs.
The event attended by many high school students from different countries and cities. It was concluded with the faculty introduction video prepared by Res. Asst. Okan Kırbacı.
