 Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan's Podcast Series "Mental Maneuvers" Has Begun!


The podcast series Mental Maneuvers prepared and presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan together with the director and writer Biriz Aydinç Öztüzemen has started to appear on digital platforms.


The podcast series Mental Maneuvers was prepared and presented by Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan together with the director and writer Biriz Aydinç Öztüzemen, whose technical direction and concept design were undertaken by Erdem Doğan, started to take place on digital platforms.
 
Mental Maneuvers, in which speeches mainly on cinema, literature, philosophy, and art are made, “from the duality of marriage to Ingmar Bergman's highchair, from censorship in the art to anti-common sense; a podcast series on every topic that is mind-blowing is a 'thinking-aloud'.”
 
In the first chapter, titled The Unbearable Awareness of Existence, existence is discussed both conceptually and intellectually; The limits of existence have been questioned. In the podcast, which proceeds in the form of a philosophical conversation, the definition of existence, the inclusion of existence in the works, and the effect of existentialism in the daily flow, together with writers and thinkers such as Soren Kierkegaard, Fyodor Dostoyevski, Nikolay Gogol, Franz Kafka, by referring to Jean-Paul Sartre, and how encountered was discussed. Interpretations were made about the relationship of existentialism with fatalism and religions, and the effect of art, literature, and philosophy on people's self-knowledge and existence was emphasized. Comments have been made on how existence in cinema takes place with concepts such as anxiety, nothingness, alienation, freedom, and examples from the history of cinema given.
 
Mental Maneuvers, which will progress with questions from asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan, comments by Biriz Aydinç Öztüzemen, and the duo's conversations about cinema, literature, philosophy, art, and life, will meet the audience with a new episode every Monday.
