Beykent University, Department of Industrial Design, Asst. Prof. Dr. A's talk titled “The Tachometer of Urban Experience: Communication Technologies and Spatial Media Tools” was held with the participation of its member Melis Oğuz. In our opinion, with the participation of Seray Nisa Yavuz and Ahmet Taha Demirci from the Istanbul Project team, “In our opinion, On the Istanbul Project: How We Started, What Are We Doing?” His interview titled, titled, started on May 6, 2021, at 14:00 and was moderated by Res. Asst. Eliz Mutlu took charge. The interview, attended by a total of 89 listeners, started with Seray Yavuz and Ahmet Taha Demirci introducing themselves. Then he continued with the questions of Research Assistant Eliz Mutlu. First of all, the conversation started by talking about the starting point of the Bizce Istanbul Project. Stating that the project's starting point came from the projects carried out within the scope of the Art History Lesson of asst. Prof. Dr. Pelin Aykut and the projects carried out within the scope of the course, Seray Yavuz emphasized the support and trust of asst. Prof. Dr. Pelin Aykut was very valuable when starting this project.
Continuing the conversation, they talked about their goals when starting the project and how their goals changed with the pandemic process obstacle they faced afterward. stated that they had to switch to a different social media. Within the scope of the festival, the exhibition works of the Bizce Istanbul Project team, which included some of the research of the #Evindeğren series they prepared during the pandemic, met with the audience on the Artsteps platform within the scope of Design Fest.
We, Istanbul Team, expressed the following about the exhibition, “As Bizce Istanbul Project Team, we are happy to open an online exhibition at this event, where we met under the theme of "Digitalism" within Design Fest'21. The works in our exhibition consist of a series that we have produced with pleasure under pandemic conditions for 1 year. In our #LEARN AT HOME series, we talked about the legends and histories of Istanbul's landmarks. Interior Architecture students Seray Nisa Yavuz and Ahmet Taha Demirci took part in this series. We came across information that we believed to be interesting and that fascinated us, so we wanted our series to be included in the exhibition. Another series, "Notes on Istanbul", belongs to one of our team, Simge Irmak Arbaç, from the Communication and Design department. We presented much unheard detailed information about Istanbul to our followers and we enjoyed it very much. It was one of the series that fed us a lot. Interior Architecture students Seray Nisa Yavuz and Ahmet Taha Demirci took part in our "News from Istanbul" series. We compiled news about the historical buildings of Istanbul waiting to be restored, and we had the opportunity to take a look at the stories of the buildings. In this sense, we have completed yet another enjoyable and informative series and we have included it in the exhibition. Since our team motto is "to look at Istanbul from every angle" when we set out, we continued this motto with our series despite the pandemic process. We hope you enjoy the exhibition.”
Within the scope of the "Together in Our Living Spaces" Social Responsibility Projects, students' projects were worked on at the meetings held on May 5 and 6 at 21:00. Students received criticism for their designs of sheltered living spaces for cats and dogs in their neighborhoods. The design phase continues for the projects to be exhibited after the festival.
