Research Assistant Emel Çirişoğlu, a faculty member in the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), participated fully in the "Impact-Oriented Career Development Program in the Food and Agriculture Sector," organized in collaboration with Foodback and Yaşar University with support from EIT Food on October 10-11, and earned a "Certificate of Participation."
The training program, which began with opening speeches, included various topics such as Introduction to the Food and Agriculture Ecosystem, Impact and Sustainability in the Food and Agriculture Sector, New Approaches in Food and Agriculture, Alternative Protein Sources, Future-Oriented Thinking Workshop, Seizing Opportunities in the Food and Agriculture Sector, Employment in the Food and Agriculture Sector: Next-Generation Skills and Desired Competencies, Food and Agriculture Entrepreneurship, and Successful Examples. Conducted online via Microsoft Teams, the training offered an interactive experience with workshops. At the end of the two-day program, exams were held, and certificates were awarded to participants who fully attended the exams and sessions.
Who are Foodback and EIT Food?
Foodback is a collaboration and innovation platform that supports agricultural and food innovations. It builds bridges among various actors within the food and agriculture ecosystem, accelerates impact-oriented initiatives, and supports them with incubation programs. Additionally, it offers investment and financing opportunities for startups from Turkey and the European Union.
EIT Food is an EU program established by the European Union in 2008 through the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) to strengthen Europe’s innovation capacity. EIT Food consists of over 50 partners, including top businesses, research centers, and universities from 13 different countries within the food industry. Under the partnership of EIT Food and Foodback, various conferences, training sessions, and workshops are conducted, along with project support in the food and agriculture field. Some of these activities cover topics such as "Foodback Innovation Days-I: Food and Waste," Impact in Food Conferences, Sustainable Food Production and Consumption Training, and Rising Opportunities in the Food and Agriculture Sector.
