Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA) Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department students and academic members celebrated October 29 Republic Day by making muffins in the kitchen and distributing them to the school. Students and academic members came together in the kitchen to prepare delicious muffins in order to know the values of the Republic and to raise awareness.
Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department students and Lecturer Revşen Akay made fruit and chocolate muffins for October 29 Republic Day as part of their social responsibility and distributed them to our school's teachers. The muffins were distributed not only to academic members but also to our students at the entrance of the Gelişim Art Gallery.
Cards were printed on the muffins with the words of our Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, who presented us with the republic, "The new generation will learn the greatest lesson in republicanism from today's teachers' group and the teachers they will train." In this way, the values of the Republic and its importance in education were emphasized.
This event was an important step not only to share the holiday joy but also to reinforce the sense of social responsibility. The prepared muffins were distributed at different points of the university, reinforcing the sense of unity and solidarity among students and academicians.
This meaningful celebration, reflecting the spirit of the Republic Day, allowed students to both develop their culinary skills and demonstrate their determination to protect the values of the Republic. With such events, IGU aims to instill the consciousness of the Republic in future generations and to strengthen the sense of social responsibility. This celebration aims to be a source of hope and inspiration for the bright future of our country, beyond being just a holiday event.
It is also thought that the Republic Day celebration event will provide students with gains in subjects such as Republic Consciousness, Social Responsibility, Teamwork, Creativity and Innovation, Communication Skills, Awareness in Education, Cultural Values, Motivation and Loyalty.
As a department, we aim to carry out more such events during the semester in order to contribute to the development of our students in this way. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to both our department professors and all our students who contributed to this meaningful event!
