“ART/icle: Journal of Art and Design”, the first issue of which was published in June, was the Editor-in-Chief of the Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) Deputy Dean Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin ILICAK AYDINALP, the editorship of Asst. Prof. Dr. Pelin AYKUT and the editorship of Asst. Prof. Dr. Çağlayan HERGÜL undertakes. ART/icle: Journal of Art and Design , published twice a year in June and December by Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Fine Arts, aims to create an environment of sharing and discussion among scientists doing research in the field of art and design, and at the same time to create an environment of interdisciplinary art and design. It started its publication life with the aim of creating a common academic platform that brings together the articles with the readers. For this purpose, in the first issue of ART/icle: Journal of Art and Design, There are original articles written in different fields of art and design.
ART/icle: Journal of Art and Design applied to the Tübitak Ulakbim DergiPark platform in order to increase its visibility on a national and international scale and to gain a presence on a platform that complies with international standards, and this application was positive.
DergiPark provides electronic hosting and editorial process management services for academic refereed journals published in Turkey under the umbrella of TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM. DergiPark does not interfere with the operation, management and content of the journals, and does not become a party in cases of conflicts of interest and ethical violations. The main objectives of DergiPark are to ensure the development of academic periodicals in Turkey in accordance with quality and standards, to increase the visibility and use of national academic journals all over the world, to ensure widespread and advanced use of a system that enables journals to be managed electronically, TR Index and National Atif To provide measurable clean data for the index.
Pelin AYKUT, Editor of ART/icle: Journal of Art and Design, expressed her feelings and thoughts about the magazine's publication in DergiPark:
“The first issue of our journal, whose main purpose is to create a common academic environment for different disciplines in the fields of fine arts and design, was published in June 2021 with three research articles, three review articles and a book review. In this process, our application to Tübitak Ulakbim Dergi Park was positive and ART/icle art and design magazine took its place on the Dergi Park platform. The article acceptance and evaluation processes of our journal continue for the December 2021 issue. We look forward to the research or review articles and book reviews of our esteemed academicians.”
