 Thirteenth Interviews Within the Scope of Communication and Design Department Sector Meetings Held


Within the scope of Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF) Communication and Design Department Sector Meetings, he held an interview with the cartoonist and designer İrfan Sayar entitled "The Branding Process of Porof Zihni Nervous, Enriching Our Country's Culture".


Who is İrfan Sayar?
 
İrfan Sayar was born in Manisa. After graduating from Manisa High School, he graduated from the Fine Arts Academy High Decorative Arts Department, Stage, and Visual Arts Specialization Workshop. He met Oğuz Aral when he was in the second grade and started to draw for Gırgır Magazine. And in 1977, he created the character "Zihni Nervous". Zihni Nervous is a character who questions the relationship between people and things (-> technology). She performs this interrogation with their PROCE. Zihni Sinir uses the word "Proce" instead of "Project". Because Proceler is project that incorporate three elements as Humor + Aesthetics + Functionality. proof. Nervous Mind; is a virtual character who realizes his research, creative and educational side with humorous language. That's why the title is "Proof".

The conversation moderated by Ahmet DOLUNAY and Melis BOYACI started with the opening speech of Dolunay:
 
 “Proof Zihni Nervous” character of İrfan SAYAR; is an important value for us, artists and our students studying art, in terms of carrying out many processes such as PR, promotion, and conversion into commercial products. It will be a great gain for us and our students to learn about the emergence of the “Proof Zihni Sinir” and “Proce” brands.”
 
The conversation started with İrfan SAYAR introducing himself and Sayar briefly shared his life story with the students. He explained how he realized the projects and how the project became a brand. Dr. Instructor Member Melis BOYACI emphasized the creative process and the importance of the creative process and asked how the creative process is handled. Sayar said, “My creative process started when I started going to the village in the summers and recreating the previous play habits in the village life,” Sayar said, “First I need an obstacle, and opportunities are needed to overcome the obstacle. He continued his words by saying, “People produce something by using the opportunities given and the creative process starts in that way.”

Sayar, who shared the “Proce” stage and the formation stage of “Porof Zihni Nervous” with the students in detail, explained in detail the affordability and what needs to be done to produce more. He shared his thoughts on how to follow a method throughout his student life and how to get out on the field equipped. He touched on the creation stages and design processes of his various works through visuals. The interview ended with the thanks of Ahmet Dolunay and Melis Boyacı.
