The "Mor Çatı Talk" of the Women Inspiring Development Social Responsibility Project was Held!

The event "Women Inspiring Development Social Responsibility Project: A Talk with a Mor Çatı Volunteer" was held on November 27, 2024, in collaboration with Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), the Interior Architecture Department, and the Communication and Design Department.

The second phase of the “Women Inspiring Development Social Responsibility Project,” conducted by Res. Asst. Ayten Bengisu Cansever, Res. Asst. Eliz Mutlu, and Res. Asst. Başak Lale from Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Interior Architecture Department, and Communication and Design Department, was held on November 27, 2024. The event featured a talk with Mor Çatı volunteer Zuhal Güreli.
This project, focused on “women” and comprised of three phases, aims to highlight women’s studies and raise societal awareness about violence against women. In the first phase of the project, a visit was organized on October 30 to the exhibition Chiharu Shiota: Between the Worlds, featuring the works of a female artist at Istanbul Modern.
The second phase, held on November 27 as part of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, included a talk with Mor Çatı volunteer Zuhal Güreli. This discussion aimed to introduce participants to strategies for combating violence against women and to emphasize the importance of women’s studies.

“Unspoken Aspects of Violence Against Women Were Discussed!”

During her talk, Mor Çatı volunteer Zuhal Güreli first explained the content and types of violence against women, both psychological and physical, to the participating students and academics. She then detailed ways to address these types of violence, emphasizing the role of Mor Çatı. This meaningful and informative session concluded with answering questions from the students.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ms. Zuhal Güreli for her engaging presentation!
