During the opening speech held at the Gelişim Art Gallery of Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU) on April 3, 2024, at 13:00, Curator Prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu, artist Plamen Prodanov, and made the following statements regarding his art:

"Plamen Prodanov is a renowned artist whose name is mentioned in the art literature. In many of his works, one can see different disciplines combined. His work as the Director of the State Art Gallery in Targovişte has enabled him to follow contemporary developments in Bulgarian and world art, as well as to establish contacts with various artists and world galleries, all of which have influenced him and reflected in his creativity. As a result, various quests in contemporary art emerge as richness. A significant figure in contemporary Bulgarian art, the artist has participated in many national and international important exhibitions with his works and has held significant solo exhibitions in Bulgaria and Germany. His works are found in museum, gallery, and private collections in countries such as Bulgaria, Germany, France, England, Northern Ireland, and Russia.

It can be said that he successfully utilizes the power of the square in his recent works. Prodanov also successfully applies geometry, symmetry, the unity of opposites, simultaneity, simplification, symbol usage, and stylization in his works. While strengthening expression with the unique colors and harmonies he uses in his works, he strives to create a modern image. Prodanov's composition understanding in his canvas paintings, supported by the dynamic and sometimes abstract elements and forms he uses, as well as his unique harmonies, contributes to his efforts to create a strong impact. He generally values open compositions and successfully uses monochromatic harmonies."

We invite all art enthusiasts and contemporary art lovers to visit the exhibition, which will be open until April 27, 2024.

We congratulate artist Plamen Prodanov on the opening of his solo exhibition and his significant contributions to art, and we thank him for choosing the IGU Art Gallery.
