 Research Assistant Ayten Bengisu Cansever Attended the Seminar "Formation of Modern Turkey I"!


Ayten Bengisu Cansever, a Research Assistant in the Department of Communication and Design at Istanbul Gelişim University (IGÜ), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), participated in the seminar "Formation of Modern Turkey I" organized by the Science and Art Foundation (BİSAV). This significant seminar, presented by Prof. Dr. Gökhan Çetinsaya, serves as a special salute to the 100th anniversary of our Republic.

The seminar aims to examine the period from the late 19th century to the declaration of the Republic, with the title "Formation of Modern Turkey I." Over the autumn semester, this four-week seminar will delve into a historical framework that extends from the late Ottoman Empire to the Republic era.

It is planned to draw a line from the Tanzimat and Constitutional periods to the Republic experience, highlighting the role they played in Turkey's modernization journey.
