 Photo Exhibition of the Social Responsibility Project "There is Development in Nature" Opened!


The photography exhibition of the "There is Development in Nature" Social Responsibility Project organized by Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF), opened in the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Foyer Area.


Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) completed another social responsibility project. The opening of the "Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden Guided Travel Photograph Exhibition", which is the third and final stage of the project, covering the dates of October 19-December 23, aiming to improve environmental sustainability and environmental awareness, was held on Monday, December 12, 2022 at the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Foyer Area.

The exhibition consists of photographs taken by Bedia Zerin Hökenek, Eslem Özgüç, Sümeyye Özyurt from the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, Eda Barışer, Esra Nur Gençay, Seher Selimoğlu from the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, Enes Demir from the Department of Interior Architecture, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Eda Emine Akyol from the Department of Communication and Firdevs Gülşahin from the Department of Communication and Design, during the second leg of the project, “Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden Guided Tours”. The opening of the exhibition consisting of photographs of threatened and rare plants, endemics of Turkey and various plant collections in the Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden was opened after one of the project coordinators, Merve Karadaban, talked about the primary goals of the social responsibility project and her experiences during the project, continued with Asst. Prof. Dr. Sezgin Savaş's speech.
 
Aiming to Gain "Environmental Sustainability and Environmental Awareness"

The social responsibility project, led by Istanbul Gelişim University, Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) Research Assistants Başak Lâle, Büşra Kılıç, Gökçe Uzgören and Merve Karadaban, was realized with the support of TEMA (Turkey Combating Erosion, Afforestation and Protection of Natural Assets) Foundation and Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden (NGBB). The exhibition, which aims to raise “environmental sustainability and environmental awareness” especially to university students on issues such as global warming, climate change, sustainable life and threatened plants, and to contribute to the development of an understanding of sustainability in daily life, will be visited at IGU Mehmet Akif Ersoy Foyer until 23 December 2022 can be done.

It Was a Long Term and Pleasant Project

Res.Asst. Gökçe Uzgören, one of the project coordinators, expressed her happiness that the experiences in this long-term and enjoyable project, which they carried out in cooperation with different stakeholders on sustainability and environmental awareness, were crowned with a photograph exhibition open to everyone with the contributions of the students, and thanked all the stakeholders who did not spare their support throughout the process.
