Göbeklitepe is known as an archaeological discovery that sheds light on the history of humanity. However, in addition to this monumental historical element, the enchanting world of cinema has also come together with Göbeklitepe over the past two years. The 2nd International Göbeklitepe Film Festival brings together talented filmmakers from all over the world to celebrate the art and culture of cinema, offering a captivating experience.

Last year, the International Göbeklitepe Short Film Festival, organized by the Şanlıurfa Volunteers Association, took place for the first time, and this year, it is being organized for the second time under the same NGO. Şanlıurfa, which has hosted many civilizations from the past to the present, aims to make a name for itself on a national and international level with its cultural, historical, and touristic treasures, bringing it to the attention of cinema enthusiasts. This festival will highlight the significance of Göbeklitepe in Şanlıurfa, considered the zero point of history and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, providing a historical and cultural celebration for participants from various parts of the world. The 2nd International Göbeklitepe Film Festival stands out as an important event supported by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the General Directorate of Cinema, implemented as part of this magical encounter. The festival aims to offer the audience an unforgettable experience by bringing talented filmmakers from around the world together with the mystical atmosphere of Göbeklitepe.

Lecturer Ahmet Bikiç, a faculty member from the Department of Communication and Design within the Faculty of Fine Arts at Istanbul Development University, who has taken on the role of the main jury member at this year's festival, will evaluate numerous talented films to understand how the magical world of cinema interacts with Göbeklitepe. Among the films to be screened, there will be works that tell unique stories within a historical and cultural context.

We congratulate Lecturer Ahmet Bikiç and wish him continued success.
