As of the 9th day of the earthquake, 31,974 of our citizens lost their lives in the earthquake. 195,962 disaster survivors were evacuated from the provinces affected by the earthquake.

IGU launched a "Disaster Relief Campaign for Earthquake Regions"

A state of emergency was declared for 3 months in 10 provinces where the earthquake disaster that caused great destruction was experienced. People who got together from different cities of Turkey started to collect materials to be delivered to the earthquake area. The aid collected at Istanbul Gelişim University, which started the "Disaster Relief Campaign for Earthquake Regions", is delivered to those in need with the coordination of AFAD. Students and staff without time and day limit; can deliver necessities such as blankets, tents, diapers, food, boots and coats, scarves, berets, gloves, powerbank, food parcels, ready-made food, canned food and raincoats to the "IGU J Blok SKS Office". Materials brought outside of working hours can be left to the IGU security.

Food support from IGU students to earthquake victims

Students, academicians and staff at Istanbul Gelişim University Gastronomy Departments produced more than 22 thousand sandwiches for those affected by the earthquake. The sandwiches produced are delivered to the relevant regions in completely sheltered vehicles with the support of Kızılay, by ensuring that they are packaged in the best way and by adding the expiry date on them.

As Istanbul Gelişim University, Faculty of Fine Arts, we wish God's mercy on our citizens who lost their lives in the earthquake that took place in Kahramanmaraş and felt in many cities, patience for their grieving families, and a quicky recovery to our wounded.

Best wishes to our country...
