Faculty of Fine Arts 2021-2022 Academic Year Orientation Was Held!

Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU) Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) 2021-2022 Academic Year student orientation was held on 21.09.2021 with the participation of faculty dean Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp and faculty vice dean, Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Asst. Prof. Dr. Murat Doğan. It was conducted online under the moderation of Environmental Design Department research assistant Merve Karadaban.

In her opening speech, Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp informed that the courses will be held face-to-face in the academic year that will start as of September 30, 2021. Emphasizing the importance of face-to-face education, one-to-one communication and dialogue, Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp continued by talking about the work of the academic staff.

Talking about the activities, social responsibility projects and organizations held at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp emphasized the dynamic structure of the faculty and made a big family emphasis. She talked to the students about the importance of reading the instructions, following the faculty and department web pages and social media accounts.

After Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp's speech, faculty vice dean Asst. Prof. Dr. Murat Doğan took the floor. Asst. Prof. Dr. Murat Doğan, who proceeded by answering basic questions such as what is the university, what is the faculty, who is the dean, and how do the works related to the dean's office progress, gave information to the students about the units in the university (library, student dean's office, SKS).

After Asst. Prof. Dr. Murat Doğan's speech, Buse Adıgüzel, the secretary of the faculty, took the floor and gave information about the working areas and system of the secretariat. Directly with the secretariat for students' course exemptions, double major applications, single course and visa make-up exam applications; He stated that they can contact the department heads first and then the secretariat if necessary, on subjects such as the teaching of the courses and Erasmus. He added that they can obtain documents such as student certificates and transcripts with wet signatures directly from the secretariat.

After Buse Adıgüzel's speech, Merve Karadaban made a faculty presentation. After the presentation, the university and student dean's promotional video, IGUMER information video, and the promotional videos of the Registrar's Office, Library and Documentation Department, Career Center, Alumni Association, Erasmus+ Coordinatorship, Psychological Counseling Unit, Information Processing Department were watched.
