  Communication and design department received international accreditation!


Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (GSF) Department of Communication and Design received AQAS accreditation.


These studies, which started in 2017, were found suitable for accreditation by the AQAS organization, which is a member of the European Quality Assurance Association, and received accreditation documents from the Department of Communication and Design of the Faculty of Fine Arts. AQAS is an organization that has audited more than 5000 programs worldwide. It has carried out the accreditation of education programs of which more than 90 German universities are members. Its accreditation certifies that the accredited program complies with European standards and principles.
 
During the accreditation process, the departments carried out studies for internationalization with curriculum updates and improvements in department conditions in accordance with European criteria, and put the interdisciplinary education approach into practice.
 
With the aim of raising students who can keep up with the needs of the information age, our department focused on the field of "Multimedia" and updated its curriculum in this direction in 2018. Hands-on training of Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Animate, 3D Max Design programs is supported by "experimental" projects for students to discover their original design languages. With 12 elective courses in the curriculum, an "interdisciplinary" education for students to become good communication designers. are allowed to receive. The development of students as “creative” individuals is supported by the activities organized within the university and the trips to art and design events held in the city.
 
Communication and Design Department brings together today's technologies with design; It aims to raise designs that can think analytically, produce products that are determined and fit for the target, have a developed sense of responsibility, are compatible with teamwork, follow the world, and produce sustainable/interactive designs in the fields of communication, digital media and advertising.
