Asst. Prof. Sanam Aeinfar attended the Passive House Canada 2026 Annual General Meeting!


Asst. Prof. Sanam Aeinfar, faculty member of Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design English Program, participated in the 2026 Annual General Meeting (AGM) organized by Passive House Canada, of which she is a member.


In the meeting held online on June 11, 2026, the annual activity reports of Passive House Canada were evaluated. Within the scope of the meeting, the new term board of directors elections, the future goals of the organization, and strategic works towards expanding the Passive House approach across Canada were discussed.

Current developments regarding sustainable building design, energy efficiency, low-carbon building practices, and high-performance building standards were also shared in the meeting. In this context, the issues of increasing environmental responsibility in the building sector and implementing energy-efficient design approaches on a larger scale stood out.

In the special presentation section of the event, a presentation titled “From Niche to Necessary: Scaling Passive House for a Resilient Future” was delivered by Michael Ingui, the founder of Ingui Architecture. In the presentation, the role of the Passive House approach in creating the resilient, sustainable, and low-carbon cities of the future was addressed.

Asst. Prof. Sanam Aeinfar’s active membership within international professional networks and her participation in events within this scope contribute to Istanbul Gelişim University’s international visibility in the fields of sustainable design, energy efficiency, and environmental responsibility. It is aimed to reflect the knowledge and experiences gained at the meeting onto the department's education, research, and project works.
