Head of Department's Message

İbrahim ErolDear students,

The Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (English), located within Istanbul Gelişim University, Faculty of Fine Arts, continues its education activities with a four-year education program, 100% English education and in the department there are students from 23 different countries.

Our department, which is an important internal stakeholder of the 'Internationalization in Education' strategy of Istanbul Gelişim University and the Faculty of Fine Arts, provides four-year undergraduate education in the design, planning and application areas of interior spaces and their surroundings; It aims to train interior architects who can develop and implement original, sustainable and innovative ideas.

Thanks to the academic, social and cultural equipment they acquire during their education, our students will be able to take part in interdisciplinary studies at national and international levels and will be able to take part effectively in the design and implementation processes of projects ranging from housing, which is the smallest unit, to cultural centers and hotels, which are the most complex units.

Our department's internationalization strategy brings with it the opportunity for our students to closely follow architectural, academic and cultural developments in the world. Our department curriculum and academic activities are designed to facilitate students' adaptation to the professional working environment. Conversations, interviews, workshops, etc. that we conducted with the participation of external stakeholders who have carried out successful work in the sector. Through academic events, we aim to contribute to university-sector collaborations and strengthen our students' communication with professionals.

I would like to state on behalf of our entire academic staff that we are happy to guide you, the interior architects of the future, on this beautiful journey we have embarked on to always provide people with the best spatial experience within the discipline of interior architecture, which is an absolute part of every moment of our lives...
