Asst. Prof. Halise Betül Bulut served as an instructor in the "Turkey-Kazakhstan Youth Bridge" project!
Asst. Prof. Halise Betül Bulut, a faculty member of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Istanbul Gelişim University, served as an instructor in the Istanbul program of the "Turkey-Kazakhstan Youth Bridge: Young Architects Workshop Project," which brought together young architecture students from Turkey and Kazakhstan.
Asst. Prof. Halise Betül Bulut, a faculty member of the Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (English Program), Faculty of Fine Arts (FFA), Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), served as an instructor in the "Turkey-Kazakhstan Youth Bridge: Young Architects Workshop Project," held in Istanbul between August 22 and 29, 2026.
Organized to strengthen youth cooperation between the Republic of Turkey and the Republic of Kazakhstan, the project brought young architecture students from both countries together in a shared educational and production environment. Within the scope of the project, it was aimed to promote the cultural values as well as the traditional and contemporary architectural heritage of Turkey and Kazakhstan, to support knowledge and experience sharing among participants, and to develop future professional collaborations.
Throughout the program, participants received training from academics and expert architects on traditional Turkish-Islamic architecture, the architectural heritage of civilizations that lived in the geographies of both countries, as well as modern and contemporary architectural works. Furthermore, participants had the opportunity to examine traditional and modern architectural structures in Istanbul on-site, observing the city's architectural layers from different eras.
In the workshops, mixed teams composed of Turkish and Kazakh youth worked on the needs and challenges of public buildings such as sports halls, stadiums, student dormitories, and youth centers. At the end of the program, architectural project drafts and proposed solutions developed by the teams were presented to the participants and instructors.
Asst. Prof. Halise Betül Bulut contributed to the educational and workshop sessions of the program as an instructor, supporting young participants in their learning of cultural heritage, architectural design, and collaborative project development processes. The Turkish participants selected for the program in Turkey are also planned to participate in the second stage of the project, which will be organized in Kazakhstan in the future.
