Intense Interest in Film Communication Event!

Wednesday Workshops, organized by the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema and the IGU Career Development Center as of the 2022-2023 academic year, started to take place as an event series that includes workshops on various subjects. The first workshop of the series was held on November 16, under the title of Cinematography Workshop, under the instructor of the cinematographer Berkan Dörtkardeş. The second workshop was held under the title of Film Communication, under the tutorship of assistant director, poster designer and translator Erdem Doğan. The event took place on December 7, 2022, in the classroom 270 of Istanbul Gelisim University J Block. A group of about twenty students participated in the event, which had limited participation.

Erdem Doğan started the training by talking to the students about the structure of festivals and what film communication means. After the theoretical introduction, Doğan explained the Subtitle Edit program and the interface of the program, and explained how to make subtitles through the program. In the continuation of the workshop, Doğan talked about how a movie was created and arranged in IMDB, and also talked about poster design after students' questions. He talked about the elements to be considered in poster design and the effect of a poster on the communication of the film. Talking about the credits design, the order of the characters in the credits, and the fonts to be used, Doğan explained with examples how to make the right trailer. Finally, the event talked about the soundtrack and ended after the question and answer session.

Wednesday Workshops Will Continue

Wednesday Workshops will continue with various content that will be beneficial to students. The third workshop will take place on December 28 with the subtitle of the On Camera Acting Workshop.
