 From IGU to Prestige Matter Film Set!


Melek Çetinkaya, Melike Kenet and Mert Hakan, third and fourth years students of Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, took part in the film set of Prestige Matter.


The shooting of the movie "Prestige Matter", which is defined as a musical drama, took place in different districts of Istanbul such as Beylikdüzü, Levent and Unkapanı, in a calendar spanning one and a half months, between September and November. Istanbul Gelisim University Fine Arts Faculty, Radio, Television and Cinema Department students took part in the set of the movie Prestige Matter, directed by Mahsun Kırmızıgül. Melek Çetinkaya, Melike Kenet and Mert Hakan from the Radio, Television and Cinema Department served as production assistants and had the opportunity to experience the cinema set of a feature film.

Working with an Equipped Team is a Different Experience

Melek Çetinkaya and Mert Hakan, who were on the set of a feature-length professional film for the first time, expressed their happiness for having the opportunity to try and observe the setting, especially the operation of a high-budget set. Thanks to the project, the duo had the opportunity to work with the leading names of the industry and Mahsun Kırmızıgül, who is also the director of the project, adding that they had been involved in teamwork before, but working with a well-equipped team was another experience.

Çetinkaya, Kenet and Hakan, who worked as assistants in the production team, stated that they had an idea not only about the operation of the production team, but also about the working styles of other teams such as director and image. Emphasizing that they had the opportunity to get to know many teams, they underlined that they participated in the study as much as they could in order to benefit professionally. Çetinkaya, Kenet and Hakan said that they had experienced all the details of the set and stated that they had significant spiritual experiences as well. Çetinkaya, Kenet and Hakan, who stated that they reflect the Gelişim University Family on the set by being together, stated that they have become a big family with the participation of the whole team over time.
