 2023-2024 Academic Year Spring Term Academic Board Meeting Was Held!


The Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts, Spring Semester Academic Board Meeting for the 2023-2024 academic year took place under the chairmanship of the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp, with the participation of academic and administrative staff, on Thursday, February 15th, at 12:30 PM, in auditorium number 311, Block K.


The 2023-2024 Academic Year Spring Semester Academic Board Meeting began with the participation of full-time faculty members and hourly paid instructors from the Faculty of Fine Arts and a speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp.

Prof. Dr. Şükran Güzin Ilıcak Aydınalp, in her opening speech, extended her wishes for the new semester to the participants. Starting her speech with a review of past periods, Aydınalp mentioned that the Faculty of Fine Arts has expanded and grown, providing education to approximately 2,000 students. She continued her speech by talking about the events, social responsibility projects, student/instructor exhibitions, and academic work conducted within the faculty. In the final part of her speech, Aydınalp emphasized the importance of starting and ending classes on time, conducting them effectively, and evaluating them fairly.

The second part of the academic board meeting, which saw significant participation from the academic staff and administrative personnel of the Faculty of Fine Arts, involved giving the floor to the vice deans and the heads of all departments within the Faculty of Fine Arts. They were asked to share the departmental goals and strategies set for the new term.

The vice deans provided information on what to do in case of potential problems and expressed their good wishes for the new term, while department heads reviewed the past term for their departments and discussed their plans for the new term. The new term plans were notable for new elective courses, events, talks, workshops, competitions, industry collaborations, exhibitions, and book projects. The meeting also facilitated an exchange of information on developments within the faculty, academic activities, and projects. After the new faculty members introduced themselves, the meeting concluded.
