1. Is drawing ability a requirement for the Interior Architecture program?
 
Drawing is a language of expression in the profession of Interior Architecture. Our department provides intensive practical education from the first year onward, enabling students to acquire this language of expression necessary for their professional lives. With our accredited curriculum, adapted to current standards, students also gain proficiency in computer-aided drawing programs, allowing them to use all necessary drawing methods for their careers. Therefore, drawing ability is not a barrier for the Interior Architecture Department.
 
2. What courses are included in the curriculum of the Interior Architecture Department?
 
Our curriculum includes compulsory applied courses such as Basic Art Education, Visual Expression, Design Research in Interior Architecture, Interior Architecture Studio, Furniture, and Graduation Project, as well as various elective applied courses from different disciplines. The Elective Course Pool also offers development opportunities in fields of interest such as Aesthetics and Creativity, Concept and Design, Color and Usage in Interior Architecture, Showcase and Exhibition Stand Design, Advanced Visual Expression Techniques, Interior Textiles, Green Building Design, Building Information Modeling in Interior Architecture, Material Knowledge in Interior Architecture, Research Techniques in Interior Architecture, Conservation and Restoration, Site Management, Acoustic, Design and Branding, Materials of the Future and Professional Practices of Interior Architecture and Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Departments.
 
3. What career opportunities are available after graduating from the Interior Architecture program?
 
Interior Architecture graduates can work in furniture design, faster projects such as fairs, showcases, stands, stages, and studio decorations, and in complex structures combining various functions like residential to hotel projects; they can also work in their own design offices, in private companies' interior design implementation and coordination teams, or in project teams at government institutions. They can also choose to continue their academic careers after completing their undergraduate studies.
 
4. What are the differences between the Interior Architecture and Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Departments?
 
Although the Interior Architecture and Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Departments are largely similar, there are some differences in their education and curriculum plans. These differences can be summarized as follows:
 
  • The Interior Architecture and Environmental Design Department accepts students based on "TM1 (Turkish / Mathematics)" scores, while the Interior Architecture Department accepts students based on "MF4 (Mathematics / Science)" scores.
  • While there are significant similarities in the curricula of both departments, there are also different courses such as Furniture History, Interior Space Concept and Applications, Building Knowledge, Material Knowledge, Wood Construction Techniques, Acoustics, and Human and Outdoor Space Relationship.
  • Students who successfully complete both departments graduate with the title of "Interior Architect."

6. What programs are learned during the education period in the Interior Architecture program?
 
Students learn various visualization and drawing programs such as AutoCAD, Photoshop, and 3DS Max. Our current education program includes the above-mentioned computer programs. It is crucial for students' career development to learn techniques to improve themselves in visualization programs and to adapt what they have learned to future technologies.
 
7. Does the Interior Architecture program have mandatory internships during the education period?
 
There are two mandatory internships in the Interior Architecture Department, one in offices and one on construction sites, at the end of the 4th semester. Internships are conducted for 30 working days each.
