A conversation on contemporary art took place with the students and lecturers of the Faculty of Communication and GSF in the conference hall before the opening. prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu evaluated the developments in contemporary art with different examples before a dynamic and interested audience. At the opening, he gave introductory information on his artistic understanding and practices. The opening ceremony, which was quite crowded, was accompanied by the Board of Trustees of Istanbul Arel University and the university administration, as well as lecturers, students and art lovers. prof. Dr. İsmet Çavuşoğlu was presented with a certificate of appreciation for his 80th solo exhibition.
prof. Dr. About İsmet Çavuşoğlu:
He was born in January 1946 in Cherkovna, Targovishte Region. After graduating from the Dupnista Institute, he started working as a teacher in Targovishte. He took part in General Art Exhibitions organized by artists in Targovishte since 1978. Having held his first solo exhibition in 1980, Çavuşoğlu is a member of the 'Union of Bulgarian Artists'. He moved to Turkey in 1989 and graduated from Anadolu University Fine Arts Faculty in 1994. He completed his master's degree at the Academy in 1999. Çavuşoğlu has served as dean and professor at many different universities in Turkey.
Having held 80 solo exhibitions in countries such as Turkey, England, Germany, Switzerland and Belgium, Çavuşoğlu has participated in more than 100 group exhibitions in various countries. The artist, who has received numerous awards, has articles published on artistic subjects.”
