The Department of Radio, Television, and Cinema organizes periodic workshops by taking the needs of students throughout the semester into account. Following meetings with student representatives to listen to their requests, the department organized a “Sound Design Workshop” for the 2025-2026 Spring semester. The workshop was held with intensive participation from the students. Guest sound designer Batuhan Pehlivan shared his industry experiences and the role of sound in narrative with the participants.
During the event, the importance of sound design in cinema and audiovisual production processes was discussed. Through various examples, it was demonstrated how sound can be used as a strategic tool to build atmosphere, evoke emotion, and deepen the narrative. Participants also had the opportunity to learn about technical equipment usage, recording processes, and post-production stages.
Throughout the workshop, students reinforced their theoretical knowledge through practical exercises and had the chance to find answers to their questions by communicating directly with an industry professional. The event was regarded as a significant gathering that strengthens the department's application-oriented education approach.
