Shade of Green Documentary Screened at GSF!

The Department of Radio, Television and Cinema continues to organize film screening events as well as event series such as "Short and...", "Wednesday Workshops" and "Masters" in the 2023-2024 fall semester. This time, Emre Ahmet Semen's feature-length documentary, Shade of Green, was screened at the film screening events, which attracted great interest from students. After the screening, a conversation was held with the director Emre Ahmet Semen, moderated by Department Head Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan.
 
Shades of Green: Brotherly, Freely, Greenly

Shade of Green, which deals with the towns of Yeşilce and Yeşilyurt in Ordu's Mesudiye district from a historical and sociological perspective, reveals the architecture, geographical beauty and hospitality of the towns. The fact that important issues such as the historical background in the culture of the towns, the effort to act in accordance with democracy with the village-city projects carried out, and the steps taken for rural development are brought into the narrative turns the documentary into a testimony of a town and its culture rather than a promotion of a town.

The screening, which took place at IGU Firnas Auditorium, was met with interest by the students of the Radio, Television and Cinema Department. After the screening, students had the opportunity to talk one-on-one with the director of the documentary, Emre Ahmet Semen, and ask their questions. Director Emre Ahmet Semen, who shared his experiences about the pre-production, production and post-production processes of the documentary under the moderation of Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan, then answered the questions of the students. The screening ended after Asst. Prof. Dr. Emre Doğan's thank you speech and the plaque presentation to Emre Ahmet Seçen.

Activities Will Continue

Radio, Television and Cinema Department activities will continue throughout the semester. The next event will take place on January 4, 2023, under the title "Short and Experimental", at Firnas Auditorium. At the event where Çağıl Saydam will be the guest, the experimental dimension of the short film will be discussed.
